Fraternidad-Muprespa at the VI Congress on Occupational Risk Prevention of the IRSST in Madrid
Occupational risk prevention experts met on November 16 and 17 at the VI Congress on Occupational Risk Prevention of the Regional Institute of Safety and Health at Work of Madrid.
On behalf of the Mutual, the Dr. José Ignacio Mora Blanco, director of the IT Care Coordination and Control Center at the table “Strategies to guarantee diversity and talent”, accompanied by Ana Belén Casado, Secretary of Occupational Health of CCOO of Madrid,Elena Cascante, president of the GT Observatory. Generational Diversity Studies,Mercedes Sanchis, director of innovation-wellbeing and occupational health from the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia, and Teresa Moreno, responsible for the IRSST Technical Training and Awareness Unit, as moderator.
Dr. Mora presented his experience within the Mutua, ensuring that in relation to the diversity of people "aging and work activity are increasing" and added that "in this situation and the increase in age that is being experienced in terms of diseases, it is very necessary to prevent." Mora also spoke about the benefits on the protection of pregnancy and breastfeeding and that dedicated to sick minors, ensuring that "companies are putting all their resources to reconcile these needs because they are increasingly aware of these aspects" which he described as something positive.
In addition, the Mutual Fund gave the road safety workshop with immersive virtual reality from the hand of prevention consultants David Revillo Vidales and Felipe Cuellar Arranz, in which attendees were able to see first-hand a reduced version of the workshop that seeks to raise awareness and change workers' risk perception when traveling for work. In particular, they were able to practice driving and watch 360º videos with our immersive virtual reality driving simulator.
The day began with a presentation in which attendees were asked what motivates us to drive safely, to subsequently analyze the data on work-related road accidents, highlighting that the pandemic produced a reduction in work-related injuries and deaths due to traffic, but that once mobility increases,accident rate It is increasing again, as we are seeing in 2022. In fact, every two days a person dies from a work-related road accident and 197 work-related traffic accidents occur every day.
Next, different risk perception dynamics were carried out with the participation of the attendees and we also worked with glasses that simulate the effects of cannabis to see how it conditions our psychophysical abilities.
In the final part, driving practices were carried out with our simulator so that attendees could safely test the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, fatigue, adverse weather conditions and glare.
Attendees highlighted that virtual reality allows, in an enjoyable, safe and participatory way, to improve the perception of risk while driving, as well as that occupational road safety continues to be a pending issue that requires everyone's commitment.

This is an event organized by the Mutual Fund on an annual basis with the aim of raising awareness among mutual companies in order to reduce accident rate work road, coinciding with the celebration of the World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Traffic Accidents. For this purpose, different events were scheduled this year: a national webinar which featured important expert speakers in different aspects of road safety, four face-to-face sessions, in To Coruña, Zaragoza, Asturias and Murcia, and participation in conferences organized by the Regional Institutes of Occupational Risk Prevention in Jaén and Madrid, as well as a Fratertalk with Bartolomé Vargas, who was the first Road Safety prosecutor of the State Attorney General's Office, as a guest expert.
