IX Prevention Week: conference in A Coruña “ITSS actions in ORP matters”

Within the framework of the celebration ofthe IX Prevention Week nof Fraternidad-Muprespa , e On April 24th, it was celebrated in the center of Fraternidad-Muprespa from A Coruña a day on the “ Actions of the Labor and Social Security Inspection regarding prevention of occupational risks”

The Provincial Director of A Coruña,Alejandro Lamelo Garrido, welcomed the speaker and all attendees and briefly introduced the theme of the day.

Next Mª Encina Santamarina Duran, boss of the Labor and Social Security Inspection in the Provincial Directorate of A Coruña, has outlined the lines of action that the ITSS is developing for 2024 in the province, such as the prevention of risks derived from exposure to environmental conditions, the new campaign on working conditions on fishing vessels, MSDs in housekeepers, integration of prevention, ORP with a gender focus, accident investigations, the European Campaign for Workplace Accidents, prevention of occupational diseases (Plans radon, asbestos, silica, etc…).

As notable data in the exhibition, it is indicated that currently 80% of inspection actions are carried out by judicial request and not as planned actions, and that currently the ITSS in the Provincial Directorate of A Coruña has five inspectors and seven sub-inspectors dedicated exclusively to prevention of occupational risks.

After the presentation, Alejandro Lamelo gave way to questions from the attendees in which doubts were raised about different issues, which were resolved by Mª Encina Santamarina in a clear and precise manner.

In closing, the Provincial Director Alejandro Lamelo Garrido intervened to comment on various aspects of what was discussed throughout the day and thank the attendees for their presence.
