July 14, World Nursing Auxiliary Day: the essence of care

Every year, with the commemoration of this day, the crucial role that these professionals play in the healthcare system is recognized and, within the framework of this celebration, Fraternidad-Muprespa pays tribute to the hundreds of auxiliaries who are part of its staff and that are essential pillars in the quality care it provides to its mutual members.

And July 14 is not only a symbolic anniversary: it is also an opportunity to make visible and dignify this profession, linked to dedication, empathy, dedication and support to patients, who are often very vulnerable due to the pathologies they present.  

Their work covers everything from basic patient care to logistical and administrative support, collaborating in the activity of other health professionals and guaranteeing continuous care.

If we look for the majority profile of the profession, we will find that the majority profile is female: women trained in intermediate level cycles. The average age ranges between 35 and 50 years and their daily activity involves the personal hygiene of the patients, their mobilization, taking vital signs, and others such as collaboration with the medical team or in relation to the patient's nutrition.

For their work they have work tools and technical skills such as rigor when applying protocols, both hygienic and health, and versatility in care and administrative functions.
