Escolástico Zaldívar Awards 2024

Fraternidad-Muprespa has announced the , in order to reward and promote good preventive practices in the work environment carried out by their mutual companies.

In this tenth edition we had 61 applications presented by mutual companies that total more than 30,000 protected workers.

THE WINNERS OF THE IX EDITION HAVE BEEN:

Pinturas Hempel SA won the first prize in the Plus Prevention category for its 'Safety Excellence', Hempel's global safety program whose objective is to make a safe place to work, aiming to eliminate accidents, reduce acts and conditions unsafe, all under an innovative concept in which an accident is not seen as a simple failure or error but as an opportunity to improve.

Museo Nacional Thyssen Bornemisza won the first prize in the category Walking towards Well-being for its well-being program called 'Healthy Thyssen' based on the promotion of healthy eating, physical activity programs without neglecting the care of emotional well-being, and it is also a company certified as a Family Responsible Company.

Siderúrgica Balboa (CL Grupo Industrial) won first prize in the Speaking of Prevention category for using a direct, didactic and entertaining way to make visible the risks that exist in the company's steel plant and the measures that staff must follow to avoid them. To do so, they have used the video format to create the necessary culture of awareness to avoid workplace accidents.

Kaefer Servicios Industriales received the first prize in the category We feel prevention for the development of a postural health project through a device that evaluates harmful postures for the worker, being able to detect when the worker adopts an ergonomically inadequate posture that can cause an injury.

the Professional Excellence Award, recognizing their extensive experience and career in the world of occupational risk prevention. In addition, the Mutua awarded the Extraordinary Award to the entity or body committed to the prevention of occupational risks to the International Labor Organization (ILO), highlighting its role as a specialized agency of the United Nations that deals with issues related to work and labor relations.

After 10 editions and more than 500 projects presented, the  We remember that the categories to which candidates could be submitted were:

  • Plus Prevention: recognition of preventive improvement actions aimed at reducing occupational accidents and occupational diseases in one of the five major areas that make up the scope of the ORP.
  • Talking about Prevention: recognition of the work of communication, dissemination and promotion of prevention both internally within the company  and abroad.
  • Walking towards Wellbeing: recognition of programs and projects to promote healthy habits among workers.
  • We Feel Prevention: recognition of good inclusive preventive practices related to road safety, integration of the gender perspective, active aging or workers with different abilities, as well as preventive practices that address the preventive challenges of the future and the use of new technologies applied to improving working conditions.

Two extraordinary awards were also given:

  • Extraordinary award for professional career to that person who stands out for his extensive experience and career in the world of occupational risk prevention .
  • Extraordinary award to the entity especially committed to the dissemination and promotion of occupational risk prevention .
