The presentation was given by Carlos Diaz Quintana, Deputy Director of the Mutual Fund's Economic Benefits Department, who offered a detailed explanation of the recent regulatory changes. Besides, Eduardo Castro, director of the same department, actively participated in the question time, answering questions and offering his expert vision on the topics discussed.
During the day, the changes in the calculation of the regulatory bases (BR) were addressed, explaining the differences between full-time and part-time contracts, as well as the modifications that directly impact the economic benefit of temporary disability (IT).
The situation regarding new professional groups affected was also discussed, such as workers with multiple jobs, people employed in domestic tasks, artists, bullfighting professionals and people who are beneficiaries of the Special System for Agricultural Workers (SETACA).
Another of the key topics discussed were the new IT situations recognized by the regulations, such as disability derived from secondary disabling menstruation, termination of pregnancy, gestation after week 39 and organ donors.
Finally, emphasis was placed on the next milestones in the management of IT benefits, specifically the project of the National Social Security Institute to communicate the regulatory basis to companies and the project of the General Treasury of Social Security to communicate the expected deductions.
The event, presented by Lucia Alonso, Provincial Director of Madrid, was an excellent opportunity to learn about the most recent changes in temporary disability benefits, clarify doubts and provide key information about the new regulations that affect the social protection of workers to the more than 500 people who joined the event, which demonstrates the great interest in the topics discussed.
