The evolution of regulations regarding the prevention of occupational risks and its impact on accidents in our country, made it advisable to provide the State with a tool called Spanish Strategy for Safety and Health at Work (2007-2012). In the application of the Strategy, two aspects of great importance are missing: adequate communication about the progress of the work to the general population, and knowledge of direct opinions of those who live daily with prevention and its effects. AESPLA, Spanish Association of Occupational Prevention Services, of which Fraternidad Muprespa is one of its 22 associated companies, has developed an idea that can solve this lack, to the point of being welcomed by the competent Authorities of the Ministry of Labor and Immigration. Basically it is about organizing, periodically, meetings (called AGORA, alluding to the scheme they followed in ancient Greece) in which the agents involved in the development of the strategy put on the table the achievements achieved so far, and the approaches that have led to them, as well as ideas for the future. The interested public is given the opportunity to participate in two ways: by sending, before the event, the aspects that interest them most (www.agoraprevencion.com) and, during its realization, participating in a discussion with the speakers and the rest of the attendees. The Ministry will thus be able to collect the conclusions to take them into account in the development of the Strategy's work and attendees will know, in real time, the approaches and solutions planned for the problems that the Strategy aims to solve. The Ministry and Association consider that this approach to the first line of prevention management will provide qualitative improvements and greater security when interpreting the regulations that govern it. He AGORA will be held on May 26 and 27, coinciding with LABOR, the comprehensive fair for prevention, protection and occupational health and safety; a national fair reference where the latest developments in occupational risk prevention will be exhibited.
