Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, participated this Friday in the pre-congress conference "Healthy Companies: the value of people in the digital age" organized by the ORP International Foundation and CERpIE-Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. This event, held in Santander, precedes the celebration of the 19th International ORP Congress that will be held between June 5 and 7 in Madrid.

The mayor of Santander, Gema Igual, the director of the Institute of Safety and Health, Amalio Sánchez, and Pedro Mondelo, director of the ORP international congress, were in charge of the institutional inauguration of the Congress.

The conference addressed how today's society has found in the company the way to satisfy many personal needs, therefore special attention must be paid to who generates these goods and services. The healthy company is the strategic element for the sustainable development of humanity and evidence that people are an asset to be protected.

People therefore come to occupy the epicenter of the company and become unique and privileged protagonists of the new healthy company that is committed to people, its environment and, by extension, the planet.

He also highlighted that there is still a long way to go in the field of risk prevention, since every year two million people die in the world due to occupational diseases and work accidents. In Spain, according to the progress of data relating to 2018 compared to the previous year, "there are 34 more people who lost their lives, 3.2% more work accidents that involved medical leave, 3.3% more accidents in itinere... that is, there is a lot of work to do in terms of preventive culture in the company," he stated.

As solutions to integrate this preventive culture, he highlighted the importance of promoting audiovisual language that generates emotion, taking into account new users, without forgetting the traditional audience, and reinventing what is relevant to make it interesting.

“We must take advantage of the era of technology so that the universal and immediate accessibility it provides serves to spread the message of safety and health in society, and achieve the real integration of risk prevention,” he stated in conclusion of his presentation.
