The exhibition "Prevention Posters of the 20th Century" at the INVASSAT in Valencia

For the first time since its journey began in 2016, Valencia hosts the Exhibition “Prevention Posters of the 20th Century”, organized by Fraternidad-Muprespa and the AXA Foundation. It can be visited until the end of the month at the Valencian Institute of Safety and Health at Work INVASSAT. 

Representatives of the three entities attended the official opening: Invassat, Fraternidad-Muprespa and Fundación AXA.

Fernando Sáez, deputy director of INVASSAT, attended name of Elvira Ródenas, general director of Labor, Welfare and Occupational Safety of the Generalitat Valenciana and director of INVASSAT. Sáez highlighted in his speech that “prevention training actions are basic.” "We should learn from history. We are people taking care of people. As long as people die or suffer harm, the drama will remain.  We must go beyond legal issues, we must integrate them into the company because it will mean greater quality and productivity."

On behalf of the AXA Foundation, its general director, Josep Alfonso, intervened, emphasizing that the first thing that draws attention about the exhibition is that the messages it emits are already included in the most recent laws. recent, because prevention and awareness help reduce accidents. “We have to be grateful for the involvement of public administrations in the preventive task, given how high the numbers of deaths in work accidents continue to be, both in 2020 and 2021.”

Natalia Fdez. as one of its missions "to contribute to reducing the accident rate of its mutual companies through different occupational risk prevention activities" and an example of how it was done in the past is through these posters, which offer testimony to the importance of the formation of a preventive culture in Spain in the last century. “Different and distant times, although the same drama continues to exist because of the work accident,” he noted.

Esteban Santamaría, director of the Valencia Territorial Center of the INVASSAT pointed out how the protection of workers must take precedence over any type of work they do. “The prevention of occupational risks must be promoted by companies to implement preventive measures that must serve as an example, creating positive synergies that will lead to constant improvement in work environments,” he stated, also emphasizing the importance of the presence of important companies from the Valencian community at the opening ceremony.

After the turn of interventions, Antonio José Millán, director of the AXA Prevention Chair, took a tour of the exhibition explaining to the attendees the characteristics of the posters on display. 

This is the Prevention Posters exhibition of the century XX

Belonging to the collection La Retrografia, focused on the theme of security work, prevention and ______health labor, each poster that is part of the exhibition, makes a free audio guide available to the visitor, using a QR code, to better understand each work and contextualize the exhibition. This traveling exhibition has traveled nearly 30,000 km in Spain and has been visited in 36 locations in 22 provinces. After being seen in 2021 in Santander, Vigo, Granada, Murcia, Alicante and Ciudad Real, it will soon be installed in León, Eibar, Oviedo and Pamplona, ​​among other locations.
