We paid 89.6 million to 76,000 self-employed workers for the CATA.COVID19 benefit
Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security No. 275, has processed and paid the Special Benefit for Cessation of Activity of 75,978 affiliated self-employed workers, for a total amount of 89,662,731.6 euros. This is the extraordinary benefit for self-employed workers affected by the declaration of the state of alarm decreed on March 14 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
These figures help mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 on 76,000 families in our country, who have accessed an average monthly salary of 634 euros.
Fraternidad-Muprespa has made a great effort, like the rest of the mutual insurance companies, to be able to process all the requests in record time, a task to which it has allocated both its human and IT resources.
It is worth highlighting the speed with which these procedures have been carried out, since in just six weeks all the necessary mechanisms have been in place so that a self-employed worker could submit his application from any electronic device. More than 600 Mutual employees have participated in the urgent processing.
Of the total of 141,374 benefits paid, 99,222 were due to Cessation of Activity, for an amount of 61,450,853.93 euros, while 42,152 were due to a decrease in income, which amounted to a total of 28,211,877.67 euros.
Andalusia (40,115), Community of Madrid (19,262) and Castilla-La Mancha (13,713) have been the regions in which the most benefits have been processed.
According to the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, the total amount paid by all Mutual Funds to self-employed workers has been 1,320.60 million euros, with 96.94% of the applications processed having been approved.
All self-employed people who are registered with Social Security and have been affected by the closure of their businesses due to the declaration of the state of alarm can request the extraordinary benefit for cessation of activity. Also those whose billing has experienced a decrease of 75% compared to the average of the six months prior to the month they request.
