Daniel Maul is an associate professor of contemporary history at the University of Oslo, Norway, and has published numerous articles on the history of the International Labor Organization (ILO). His latest work, recently published, is the book: “International Labor Organization. 100 years of social policies on a global scale.”

This book is the first exhaustive review of the 100-year history of the ILO in which Daniel Maul offers us a lively analytical description of the history of this organization, reflecting how in this century technological and structural changes have profoundly transformed our society and the world of work.

This volume is based on research conducted from an academic perspective and analyzes in depth the multilateral system, global governance, and international organizations. This has motivated historians and researchers in the social sciences to carry out an increasing number of investigations on the ILO that have contributed to the preparation of this book.

There is no single history of the ILO as the individual and collective experiences of workers, employers and governments inspire numerous stories throughout a century of history.
