Road safety workshop. Driving simulator

Seguridad vial

In general, people are not aware of what it means to have a traffic accident. We believe that it is the result of luck, that it cannot happen to us, but statistics indicate that we are all candidates. Y this is the great enemy we have in terms of safety and health, the lack of risk perception, since we cannot wait for an accident to happen in the first person to become aware of its consequences.

Therefore, one of the keys to changing attitudes within road safety is to generate driving experiences under exposure to different risk factors with different consequences for the driver based on their behavior. How do we achieve it?, using immersive virtual reality.

The application is developed with a priority objective of raising awareness in which safe behavior of users is promoted, avoiding the stereotypes of the classic driving game in which the user is rewarded for driving in a more aggressive way. This point is fundamental since the focus of the application is educational and not competitive.

Through the glasses, workers will be able to live driving experiences under exposure to different risk situations related to the vehicle (use of the seat belt, lighting...),   the road or environment (weather conditions adverse events, signs, night driving...) and the person (distractions, drowsiness, alcohol, drugs, medications...).

The groups with which the workshop is held are small, between ten and fifteen attendees, to facilitate participation and debate. We use videos, photographs, dynamics on risk perception, activities with blurred vision glasses under the influence of alcohol and drugs and a program that simulates the level of alcohol in the blood depending on the individual and the intake. By acting on emotions and generating a debate about the consequences of having any type of accident, we achieve a more effective and longer-lasting behavioral change that will allow us to contribute to the goal of zero injuries due to traffic in companies.

Virtual reality is also present in our awareness campaigns. The following video will allow you to reflect on how important it is to maintain a safe attitude when driving a vehicle or as pedestrian.
