2023 bonus suspension of the contribution reduction system due to a reduction in workplace accidents

On December 24, Law 31/2022, of December 23, on the General State Budgets for the year 2023, was published in the Official State Gazette, which includes the suspension of the Bonus or contribution reduction system due to a reduction in workplace accidents. 

Specifically the Additional provision ninety-seventh indicates that suspends the application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies to companies that have considerably reduced workplace accidents, provided for in the Royal Decree 231/2017, of March 10, for contributions generated during the year 2023.

This suspension will be extended until the Government proceeds to reform the aforementioned Royal Decree.

Previously, Law 22/2021 of December 28, suspended the application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies to companies that had considerably reduced the occupational accidents, for the contributions generated last year 2022.
