We remember on this occasion in Previene the technical article published a few months ago on the web portal Limpiezas and written by our prevention consultant in Asturias, Iván Fernández and which was titled: "A look at the ergonomics in the professional cleaning sector".

The cleaning sector is one of the most relevant from a productive point of view. Although it is an activity that is little recognized, valued and, at times, “invisible”, its effects on any activity are relevant. Within this sector there are more than 35,000 companies in Spain that employ more than half a million people. We are talking, therefore, about a very common job in any activity. Cleaning entails significant ergonomic risks, as it is an activity in which physical effort is necessary, and consequently one of the main causes of work absenteeism due to professional contingencies.

The article describes the main ergonomic characteristics of a cleaning position and the recommendations to be able to carry out this relevant activity without negative consequences for health.
