Are there concrete risk assessments for nanomaterials?
Fratertalks is the communication project of Fraternidad-Muprespa directed to its mutual companies and constituted as a virtual space that allows us to talk with the best specialists in prevention, occupational safety, care and health promotion. If you were not able to see it at the time, or you want to remember some notion, we present a new "pill video" with excerpts of the most outstanding moments of the speakers' interventions.
Today we focus on the topic of nanomaterials and nanotechnology that are revolutionizing the world of science, industry and also of course, the risk that exists in working with them. We are talking about tiny scale particles that are present in our daily lives in a multitude of everyday products such as clothing, cosmetics, mobile phones, food or medicines.
In the video we have the expert view of José Antonio Pérez Calvo, Health and Safety Coordinator at Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia, who shares his experience on exposure to nanomaterials in the work environment and answers the question of whether there are specific evaluations developed for nanomaterials.
