Bonus. Suspension of the year 2021 for the contribution reduction system

On December 31, the Law 11/2020 of December 30, on General State Budgets for the year 2021, was published in the Official State Gazette, which includes the suspension of the Bonus or contribution reduction system due to a reduction in workplace accidents. 

Specifically, the one hundred and twenty-seventh Additional Provision indicates that the application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies to companies that have considerably reduced workplace accidents, provided for in Royal Decree 231/2017 of March 10, for the contributions that are generated, is suspended. during the year 2021.

This suspension will be extended until the Government proceeds to reform the aforementioned Royal Decree, which should occur throughout the year 2021.

Previously, theRoyal Decree-Law 18/2019 of December 27, suspended the application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies to companies that had decreased considerably the occupational accidents, for the quotes generated last year 2020.
