Changes in industrial safety
The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published the Royal Decree 542/2020 of May 26, by which different provisions on quality and industrial safety are modified and repealed.
This regulation falls within the need to adapt the regulation of industrial activity in Spain to the existing regulation of the European Union. Likewise, the entry into force of new European regulations makes it necessary to repeal previous national provisions relating to harmonized conditions for the marketing of construction products, cable transport facilities, personal protective equipment or devices that burn gaseous fuels.
With this new text, certain articles and provisions of the following Royal Decrees and Technical Instructions are modified:
- Modification of Royal Decree 1457/1986 of January 10, which regulates industrial activity and the provision of services in motor vehicle repair shops for their equipment and components.
- Modification of the Regulation of Petroleum Facilities approved by Royal Decree 2085/1994 of October 20.
- Modification of Royal Decree 2200/1995 approving the Infrastructure Regulation for Quality and Industrial Safety.
- Modification of the complementary technical instruction ITC MI-IP 03 on oil installations for own use approved by Royal Decree 1427/1997 of September 15.
- Modification of the electrotechnical regulation for low voltage approved by Royal Decree 842/2002 of August 2.
- Modification of the complementary technical instructions MIE-AEM-2 and 4 of the Regulation of lifting and handling devices, referring to tower cranes for construction sites or other applications.
- Modification of the technical regulation for the distribution and use of gaseous fuels and its complementary technical instructions on storage and distribution centers for liquefied petroleum gas containers.
