Changes in the Technical Building Code
On December 27, Royal Decree 732/2019 of December 20, which modifies the Technical Building Code, was published in the Official State Gazette.
The Technical Building Code (CTE) is defined in our country as the regulatory framework that establishes the basic quality requirements of buildings and their facilities and was approved by Royal Decree 314/2006 of March 17.
To carry out the partial transposition of recent European regulations, this Royal Decree has been prepared that introduces a new basic health requirement HS 6, of protection against radon gas. The standard requires that, in buildings located in municipal areas in which a non-negligible level of risk has been observed, appropriate means be provided to limit the foreseeable risk of inappropriate exposure inside to radon coming from the ground. This basic requirement is developed through the inclusion of a new section in the basic health document DB HS, where the requirement is characterized and quantified, and the criteria for the verification and justification of its compliance are established.
Likewise, taking into account the effects that could arise on the exterior enclosures of the building from the increase in the new regulatory requirements for energy efficiency, some modifications are made to the Basic Document DB SI of safety in the event of fire, to adequately limit the risk of fire spreading through the exterior of the building.
Finally, an update of the normative references in some of the basic technical documents of the CTE is also included.
At Fraternidad-Muprespa we work to reduce accidents and promote a culture of prevention and to this end we present our proposal to carry out an online training on the prevention of accidents and occupational diseases that we call Aula Prevention. It is a free and open access platform for our associated companies in which we have e-learning courses and audiovisual workshops for all sectors and activities. We suggest the courses we have dedicated to the construction sector.
