Diesel engine emissions
The collection "Carcinogenic Agents at Work: Knowing to Prevent" of INSST is made up of a series of monographic brochures on the chemical carcinogenic agents that can be found most commonly in workplaces.
This material constitutes a very useful tool to identify, evaluate and control the risk due to exposure to carcinogenic agents that may be present in a work environment or to the procedures that generate them, listed in Annex I of Royal Decree 665/1997.
For each of these agents, an information poster has also been prepared aimed at workers who are or may be exposed to these agents in their work and information can be found on where exposure to that agent can occur, what risks it can cause to health or what the main preventive and control measures are.
On this occasion we want to stop at the file that was dedicated to the Emission of Diesel Engines. The exposure to emissions from this type of engine can be a carcinogenic agent and there are preventive measures aimed at avoiding or minimizing this exposure in the different productive sectors in which this risk is present.
