The dresser job is one of the most representative of the footwear sector and other textile industries. It has traditionally been occupied by women and the working conditions often involve ergonomic aspects (static postures, repetitiveness, etc.) that are associated with musculoskeletal disorders.

This work has been carried out by the INSST and the Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia (IBV) to quantify the main ergonomic risk factors and propose recommendations for improvement.Through a documentary review and a field study in different companies, the main ergonomic problems existing in this job have been identified and both job design and organizational solutions have been proposed for its improvement and an analysis of the ergonomic evolution of the job in recent years has been included.
