The staff who works in a hair salon are exposed on a daily basis to different risks that can affect their health in different ways, therefore, correct prevention is essential so that this does not happen. Among their main work risks, hairdressing professionals have musculoskeletal problems related to work postures and skin problems due to working in humid environments and handling and using cosmetics.

TheEuropean Agency for Safety and Health at work has partnered with the European hairdressing industry to produce a new video for hairdressing professionals showing how to reduce health and safety risks at work with the help of OiRA which is the interactive online risk assessment tool. The video complements a infographic that they have recently published on risk assessment in this sector with the help of OiRA which is constituted as an easy and free tool that offers solutions for health at work.

The video is subtitled in the languages of the countries where an OiRA tool already exists for professionals in the sector.
