European Health and Safety Strategy 2021-2027

Last June, the European Commission officially published its New strategic framework for safety and health at work for the period 2021-2027, with the aim of maintaining a safe and healthy workplace in a constantly evolving world of work.

Its focus is to anticipate and manage change, improve the prevention of accidents and illnesses in the workplace, and increase preparedness for potential future health crises.

As Covid-19, digitalisation and the green transition bring unprecedented changes to both the nature of work and where and how it is done, the new framework aims to mobilize EU institutions, member states, social partners and other stakeholders around these key priorities.

The European framework further defines key priorities and actions to improve the safety and health of the working population, addressing rapid changes in the economy, demographics and work patterns.
