Extension of the Strategy on Safety and Health at Work 2015-2020

The Council of Ministers approved last week the extension of the Occupational Health and Safety Strategy 2015-2020. 

This work is the framework of public policies on safety and health at work and guides the actions of the competent institutions with responsibility for the prevention of occupational risks, its main objectives being ensuring continuous improvement of working conditions and developing effective preventive policies.

The Strategy is based on two fundamental principles, which are prevention and collaboration. Prevention is the most effective means to reduce work accidents and occupational diseases, and the collaboration of public powers, employers and workers promotes and drives the effective improvement of working conditions. The document has been agreed by the Public Administrations (General Administration of the State and Autonomous Communities) and the social partners.
