Fratenidad-Muprespa Webinar: "Human factor: alcohol, drugs, medications and distractions"
InFraternidad-Muprespa we have held from November 4 to 15 our III Working Road Safety Week (SVL) with the objective of raising awareness among our mutual members about the importance of road safety to reduce work accidents and work-related road accidents.
This year, due to the health crisis and the mandatory social distancing measures, the actions carried out have been digital in nature with the holding of several webinars of interest to any associated company in the national territory.
On November 11, the fifth of our webinars was held with the title of Human factor: alcohol, drugs, medications and distractions at, which was attended by 128 people and was attended by prominent prestigious speakers in the field of occupational road safety.
The opening of the day was made by Mar Morales (Fraternidad-Muprespa) who presented our session by announcing the different topics to be discussed and the participating collaborators.
A virtual round table was then held, which was moderated by David Revillo (Fraternidad-Muprespa) and was attended by the following guests:
- Tomas Santa Cecilia (Fundación Cnae) told us how in his opinion ___good work has been done in the area of reduction of alcohol consumption while driving in recent years since the number of deaths has been greatly reduced. However, the same has not happened with drugs and medications and called for a great social pact to address these two problems that are still very present in driving.
- Agustín Galdón (Traffic and Transit) explained the idea that it is not good___do more of one thing at a time when driving and you have to have focused attention on the car, eliminating external stimuli and not doing different tasks behind the wheel. He consulted our assistants about what percentage of decisions we make consciously at the end of the day, informing them that 95% of them are what we do unconsciously, so we must avoid this detail and have conscious driving with the minute stop before starting to concentrate on the journey and the running.
- Adolfo Santos (Corporación Masaveu) represented a mutual company and______explain how within your organization prevention has a humanistic philosophy and is integrated by and for people.Companies can do a lot and the best measure to avoid toxic driving habits is to treat people well and, for example, bring them closer to home so that they drive as little as possible. ___
- Esther Martí (DGT) presented like____ __HTMLTAG124___small Actions can do many things in companies, education, regulations, training, highlighting dangerous areas near the company. He told us that the use of a mobile phone is the same as driving under the influence of alcohol and the regulations have now finally come to regulate it with the latest legal reform and in his opinion how the law has to be linked to awareness.
The session was closed by Jose Ignacio Díaz (Fraternidad-Muprespa) who thanked the presence of the attendees and summarized the most significant part of the speakers' intervention in addition to offering some brief statistical data on the work accidents in itinere that we have had in our entity in the northern territorial zone and how the accident data have improved and therefore road safety is a preventable pandemic and avoidable.
