Fraternidad-Muprespa participates in the IV Iberian Congress of Psychosocial Risks
On April 11 and 12, 2019, the fourth edition of the Iberian Symposium on Psychosocial Risks , given this year at the University of Extremadura, was held in Cáceres.
This event is organized every year alternately between Spain and Portugal with the aim of promoting the meeting of psychosociology professionals and the exchange of experiences, good practices and analyzing the situation of this discipline to share actions and improvement actions.
The prevention technician of Fraternidad-Muprespa Iván Fernández Suarez has participated in the symposium on April 11 with his presentation: “Towards proactive psychosociology: behavior management and prevention of occupational risks.” In it, our technician explained that a despite the great advances in safety and health at work, accidents continue to occur. Technical and organizational measures are still not capable of covering aspects related to the individual behaviors of workers and human error is present in a high percentage of workplace accidents. In this study, an analysis of the variables that can affect the adoption of safe and unsafe behaviors is carried out. Including among the same variables of a sociodemographic and work nature, personality dimensions, perception of health status and psychosocial factors. The objective is to optimize actions in terms of safety and health at work, achieving individualized prevention, adapted to the characteristics of each person.
The contents of these sessions have touched on different topics related to psychosocial risks in which the speakers have discussed the challenges of occupational psychosociology, health and education in the face of psychosocial risks as well as absenteeism and accidents of psychosocial origin.
In this edition se had more than 300 Spanish and Portuguese attendees and entities such as the National Institute of Safety and Health at Work, Labor Inspection, Cantabrian Institute of Safety and Health at Work, the Government of Extremadura or the National Institute of Statistics participated, in addition to multiple universities, researchers and entities and associations specialized in risk prevention labor.
