Fraternidad-Muprespa participated last Tuesday, February 25, in the table on road safety at work held at the SICUR safety fair within the conference: “The preventive activities of the Mutual Collaborators with the Social Security” organized by AMAT (Association of Mutual Insurance Collaborators) Social).
David Revillo Vidales, senior technician of prevention of occupational risks of Department of Prevention and Development of Health Culture deFraternidad-Muprespa, made a presentation with data on traffic accidents of our associated workers and described the actions that the Mutual Fund makes available to companies and protected workers in order to reach the goal of zero injuries due to the traffic.
The workers protected by our entity suffered last year a total of 7,066 traffic accidents during the working day. Of them, 65% (4,613) were accidents in itinere, that is, they occurred while going to or returning from work, while the rest, 2,453, took place during their work day.
The total number of days of sick leave resulting from these work accidents were almost 280,000, 40 days on average per accident, while the estimated cost for the Mutual Fund, and therefore for Social Security, in benefits for temporary incapacity for this concept was 11.2 million euros in 2019.
Fraternidad-Muprespa in its desire to help its associates improve their accident rate, it has been using the latest technology available in this matter of road safety with the realization of our Road Safety Workshops with immersive virtual reality which are taught by our technicians at the national level as an awareness tool for the prevention of traffic accidents. traffic.
The objective is for workers to live real experiences in safe environments to achieve a change in attitude. This is a pioneering project at the national level that offers the possibility of living real driving experiences in the first person, with exposure to different risk factors such as alcohol, drugs, drowsiness, weather conditions or distractions.
