Free access to UNE Standards on personal protective equipment and relevant health products

The Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) has taken the initiative to offer numerous technical standards free of charge, which indicate processes for the manufacture of protective equipment for use by healthcare workers such as clothing, masks or gloves. In this way, its production is facilitated in the best conditions to face the health emergency caused by Coronavirus.

Technical standards are documents that reflect the consensus of experts on best practices in a specific matter and give organizations security and speed in key processes for them.

The Spanish standardization body takes this initiative to contribute to protecting the lives of health professionals and their patients and in the extraordinary and exceptional framework that regulates the Royal Decree by which the state of alarm is declared for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19.

With the free availability of this package of standards, companies manufacturing these materials will have free access online, to the standards they must comply with to manufacture basic health products such as filtering masks for respiratory protection, medical gloves or protective clothing against liquid chemicals.
