The Vision Zero training network has launched a training excellence initiative to respond to global calls for a safer world of work. The initiative is inspired by the framework of the Vision Zero strategy of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) which seeks to promote a preventive culture in organizations with the aim of achieving zero accidents, illnesses and damages in the work.

The fundamental idea of Vision Zero training is to prevent all accidents, illnesses and injuries at work and to this end the new accreditation program aims to increase the number of Vision Zero trainers around the world, which today stands at 1,300, offering a series of new elements such as:

  • Accreditation: two accredited training options, namely basic trainer and professional trainer.
  • Training materials: prepared by professionals and include manuals for learners and trainers.
  • Certificates: Vision Zero accredited professional trainers can issue training certificates.
  • Continuing professional development accreditation: recognized and accredited continuing professional development courses.
  • Validation of training courses:  Accredited professional trainers can obtain validation by IOSH of their own Vision Zero training course.
