The INSST has recently presented the document:“Guide for the preventive management of workplace facilities: Aspects common to all facilities” that selects eleven service or protection facilities as those most widely used in a workplace, whether its industrial activity or not.

For each of the selected facilities, the document summarizes and simplifies the different phases they go through from the moment they are designed until they are put out of use or dismantled, according to the requirements established in industrial safety regulations. For each installation, a final flow diagram is included that summarizes the content of the legal requirements that apply to it in a schematic and visual way and that can be downloaded and printed independently, thus facilitating its update and use.

In addition, the guide indicates the different aspects that a prevention technician can control to ensure that the most relevant regulatory aspects related to the start-up, conservation and proper use of the installation are met and, therefore, with the safety of the workers affected by their presence in the workplace.
