Fraternidad-Muprespa celebrates the III Road Safety Week from November 4 to 15 with the aim of raising awareness among our mutual members about the importance of road safety to reduce work accidents and their work-related road accidents.

The Covid-19 pandemic has transformed the way we move, especially in cities and now the number of people who use the option of individual transport as an alternative to public transport has increased and motorcycles are an individual transport option that can increase in work trips.

That's why it is important to remember three simple but fundamental tips for the safety of motorcyclists, such as:

  • Avoid driving in the center of the lane: when you drive both on the highway and in the city, it is advisable to leave safety distances both with the vehicle in front of you and on the sides.
  • Get out of the blind spots of others: the blind spots or also known as blind spots, those spaces around the vehicle that are invisible to the driver both through direct vision and through the rearview mirrors.
  • Motorcycle in the city, be careful with unforeseen events: the motorcyclist is, along with pedestrians and cyclists, one of the vulnerable groups that are talked about in road safety. It is also the case in the city, an especially hostile environment due to the accumulation of a large number of vehicles and in different situations.

It is also worth remembering that to improve the reduction of road accidents for motorcyclists, on September 30, new signage was presented with which the 100 sections of greatest risk for motorcyclists will be identified on secondary roads, with the aim of warning these users of the need to take extreme caution when traveling through them. The 100 sections, which are distributed along roads throughout the national territory in which the DGT has powers, have an approximate length of 2 km and have been selected taking into account criteria of the sinuosity of the section, as well as its accident rate in the last 5 years.
