Information about masks
The National Institute for Safety and Health at Work (INSST) has published the poster: “What is what?”, which tries to offer informative information about the main differences between masks that exist at a crucial time when personal and professional protection measures are essential due to the situation we have with the current Coronavirus outbreak.
The poster shows the main characteristics of the different types of masks:
- Mask with particle filter
- Self-filtering mask
- Surgical mask
- Dual mask
- Hygienic mask
The work includes for each type its intended use, certification, facial fit, limitations of use and finally the cleaning and disinfection possibilities.
Related to this matter, in recent days the Official State Gazette has published regulations related to the use, manufacture and distribution of masks that are of special interest at this time:
- Resolution of March 20, 2020, of the General Secretariat of Industry and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, on alternative specifications for PPE masks with European CE marking.
- Order TMA/263/2020, of March 20, which regulates the acquisition and distribution of masks by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
