List of municipal terms of priority action against radon
The Nuclear Safety Council has recently approved Instruction IS-47, which determines the list of municipal areas for priority action against radon and also establishes the guidelines for radon measurements inside workplaces.
The basic instrument for identifying those municipal areas in which a significant number of buildings may present concentrations of radon in air higher (on an annual average) than the reference level, set at 300 Bq/m3, is the map of radon potential in Spain developed by the CSN.
This instruction identifies as municipal terms of priority action those that were already established in zone II of appendix B of section DB HS-6 of the Technical Building Code and develops the Regulation for health protection against the risks derived from exposure to ionizing radiation . It requires that the owners of work activities carried out in workplaces located on ground floors and underground floors of the priority municipalities measure the concentration of radon in the air in all areas in which workers must remain or which they can access due to their work, excluding outdoor areas.
