Natalia Fdez. Laviada participates in a technical conference on communication in PRL in Santander
Fraternidad-Muprespa was present this Thursday at the technical conference "Development of personal skills. Communication; emotions and words", organized by the Association of Higher Technicians in Occupational Risk Prevention of Cantabria (ATSPRLC) in collaboration with the Cantabrian Institute of Safety and Health at Work, at whose headquarters it was held.
Natalia Fdez. Laviada, Deputy Director General of Prevention, Quality and Communication of the Mutua, participated in the meeting, whose objective was to prioritize the skills of prevention technicians, both technical and personal, to improve aspects such as communication, leadership and the performance of the concept of authority to be followed from freedom.
With the title “Communication and emotions of a preventionist in the digital age”, Fdez. Laviada focused on the importance of improving speech to seduce with reality and self-knowledge and listed communication, emotions and words as tools that are as powerful as they are underestimated for those who perform functions related to occupational risk prevention, health and corporate well-being.
Fdez. Laviada also described communication as a key element, essential among the basic competencies of the preventionist. “In the digital age", he assured"It is not enough to know what we say, but how we say it, from where we feel it and for what purpose, something key to being able to connect, and thus transcend and achieve behavioral changes and a real integration of the preventive culture in the company.”.
To change behaviors, you must first touch emotions. Empty messages no longer make sense. We need authenticity. Humanity. And also tools to build that preventive culture that does not remain just a piece of paper.
The first presentation, with the title "Where words are not enough. A key aspect in influential communication that few use well" was given by Joan Junyent, mining engineer and Master in PRL, who addressed 'the non-conformist prevention enthusiasts' present there, to focus on the fact that "Behind the words there is an essential authority for the message to arrive”.
“All types of authority must be worked on: the transferred one, whether borrowed or earned, but above all the internal one, the one that derives from the truth of the message, because the success of prevention is invisible and the perspective of prevention is linked to that of production.”, he assured.
