New basic guide for the hiring or purchase of personal protective equipment

The Association of Personal Protective Equipment (ASEPAL) has launched a guide entitled: "Technical guidance. Hiring PPE. Guide for technical prescription specifications".

This document, the result of the numerous queries that ASEPAL receives from public institutions and large users, seeks to be a basis for all those entities that face the challenge of placing an order for protective equipment for the workforce of their service or their territorial area, and have also attempted to offer a practical tool to raise awareness about the importance of a meticulous and appropriate selection of PPE.

The guide covers the fundamental aspects for contracting PPE, including the general analysis of current regulations, supplier selection and evaluation criteria, checklists for contracting, and the benefits of implementing the recommendations. The work is mainly aimed at those responsible for purchasing and acquisitions in government and private entities, occupational risk prevention technicians, especially those who operate in sectors with high demands in terms of personal protection and professionals in the health and occupational safety sector seeking to update their knowledge and practices.
