As we already announced in the launch news of the celebration of our "V F-M Prevention Week", on this occasion, due to the new working conditions imposed by the health emergency that we are suffering (and let us not forget, we will overcome together!!), all our actions will be based on virtual events.

So, in these days when teleworking has become a reality due to the Coronavirus health crisis, we want to advise you so that you can enjoy a pleasant and safe workplace. Our experts have developed the following sheets that contain simple tips that you can follow without difficulty to achieve teleworking without risks and without losing your health. Some of these tips are aimed at staying mentally strong, which we consider essential to be able to cope with this abnormal situation.

Workplace: our workplace has changed for many of us, now it is our dining room, bedroom, living room, here we also need to follow ergonomic recommendations to avoid risks, to do this:

  • Locate an exclusive place in the house that allows you to concentrate on work free of interruptions and distractions.
  • It would be ideal to choose a well-ventilated place to work with natural light.
  • If you go out, when you return home change your clothes, leave your shoes at the door and wash your hands well.
  • The equipment you use for work must be disinfected with a hydroalcoholic solution.

Electronic devices: If before we already spent too much time in front of screens, now it has become a necessity both to achieve the work objectives that we must complete, as well as maintain virtual socialization with friends and family, therefore:

  • Portable: do not use it on your knees or in bed, look for a table where you can place it as a desktop computer. If you have a docking station, use it, adding an independent screen, keyboard and mouse you will get a work station that you can use.
  • Tablet: place it on a table or lectern, this way you will avoid strain on your hands, wrists and neck.
  • Mobile: keep your back straight, resting on a surface, use hands-free systems to avoid holding the mobile phone with your face and shoulder. If you need to type texts, place it about 30 cm away. from the chest, at eye level, shoulders relaxed, neck and wrists straight.

Fundamental: take breaks every hour, about five minutes, looking at a distant target so that our pupils can "exercise" and stay healthy.

Organization and time planning: will depend a lot on each family situation, teleworking while single without children is not the same as having four young children around, within these added difficulties, it will be essential to follow the following small tips, although we are aware of the difficulty of this very special teleworking that we must do:

  • Although it may be tempting...don't work in your pajamas. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to separate the daily sleep and wake-work phases.
  • Organize your time, plan breaks and keep an updated task list. Establish a sleep and meal schedule.Keep it up!
  • Report your progress and objectives to your team or boss, so that the team can carry out effective work planning.
  • Set limits, we know that we can continue working 24 hours a day since we have many pending issues, but we also know that outside of a rational schedule mistakes are made and finally you will have to redo what you have done during times when you are tired. Plan your schedule and put an end to it.
  • Disconnect and do other activities that do not cause visual fatigue such as exercising, playing with your children, taking out the king's gifts, rearranging the closet...just as our mothers say: at home there are always tasks to do.

All this information and much more, you can find it in our Covid section that we have created expressly to help you overcome this pandemic safely and healthily. We also propose several challenges to encourage you to follow the healthiest recommendations, get in shape, maintain healthy mens in healthy corpore, so now you know:
