Closing ceremony in Santander of the exhibition of 20th century prevention posters
Fraternidad-Muprespa, Mutual Collaborator with Social Security, in collaboration with the Santander City Council and the AXA Foundation have organized the exhibition of Prevention Posters of the 20th Century in it Tobacco Civic Center from Santander.
The exhibition officially closed on June 16 in an event chaired by the city's mayor,Equal Gem, who highlighted how important it has been for the city to be able to host this exhibition. He also highlighted its informative capacity in the last century and how the posters explain “the importance of occupational risks thanks to their colors, graphics and symbolism.” “It is worth noting that now we feel more secure thanks to mutual insurance in the workplace,” he added. She also stated that she felt “delighted” because the city had hosted the exhibition, which has not only been well received by the public but also shows the protection, training and information that workers enjoy, in addition to being works of high quality.
Natalia Fdez. Laviada, deputy director of Prevention, Quality and Communication of the Mutua, highlighted that "the posters shown offer testimony of how the preventive culture has been taking shape since the last century, although the drama of the workplace accident remains the same." "Many of the current problems are similar to those of years ago. This knowledge is essential to draw conclusions about how the messages were focused and why in each one," he added, later going on to describe the parallelism between the evolution of occupational risk prevention and the work carried out by the Mutual Collaborators with Social Security, making a historical and regulatory review of the same.
For your part Tomas Gomez, vice president of the AXA Foundation, took the floor to highlight the agreement for the dissemination of preventive culture and that "we have made progress since the beginning of the 20th century, the date on which some of these images date. Proof of this is that some of these warnings that we see here today are already included in one of the greatest regulatory advances, as was the Occupational Risk Law at the time."
The AXA Foundation is collaborating for the first time in the dissemination of this exhibition, under the agreement recently signed with the Mutua with the aim of promoting the prevention of occupational risks.
Attendees learned through this retrospective, made up of 39 reproductions of posters published in our country, how occupational risk prevention was disseminated in the last century. This is a sample belonging to Retrography, focused on the topic of safety at work, prevention and occupational health.
This traveling exhibition has traveled more than 25,000 km in Spain. It has been possible to visit 28 locations in 16 provinces. After the forced break due to the pandemic, Santander has been the first stop in this new stage, which will take these posters to eleven cities: Murcia, Vigo, A Coruña, Toledo, Oviedo, Valencia, Alicante, Tarragona, Granada, Burgos and Málaga.
On this occasion, it has presented as an important novelty for the attending public, an audio guide that allows, through a QR code printed on each poster, to listen to an explanation about each work via mobile phone, helping to contextualize both each artistic work and the entire exhibition.
