Juan Roca Guillamón, new president of AMAT
Last Wednesday, January 22, in an Extraordinary General Assembly, the presidents of the eighteen Mutual Insurance Companies that collaborate with Social Security elected Juan Roca as president of the Association of Social Security Work Accident and Occupational Illness Mutual Insurance Companies (AMAT).
Roca, president of Ibermutua since 2017, referred, in his first intervention as president of the Association, to the sector's vocation for service in favor of workers and associated companies, and the commitment of these entities to the administration of Social Security, in whose system they are integrated.
Juan Roca was born in Murcia in 1948 and has a degree and doctorate in Law from the University of Murcia, to which he has been closely linked and of which he was rector. He has chaired the Murcia Savings Bank, been vice president of AMAT and director of the Spanish Confederation of Savings Banks (CECA), of CASER Seguros and of AEROMUR (mercantile concessionaire for the Construction of the Murcia Airport), among other positions.
He has been awarded the Grand Cross of Naval Merit with a white badge, the Distinguished Cross of 1st class of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort, and the Gold Medal of the University of Murcia. He is the author of more than a hundred monographic research papers, as well as a lecturer and speaker.
