On September 12, the Official State Gazette published the Resolution of September 8, 2025, of the Secretary of State for Labor, which publishes the Agreement of the Council of Ministers of August 26, 2025, which approves the Strategic Plan of the Labor and Social Security Inspection 2025-2027.

The plan has a first axis that covers ten objectives and defines the priority lines of action in the different areas in which this organization carries out its activity, among which is safety and health at work.

Thus, objective 3 states that this Strategic Plan must be aligned with the Spanish Strategy for Safety and Health at Work 2023-2027 and that it is called to become the most effective instrument to execute the Spanish Strategy, in those aspects that affect the Labor and Social Security Inspection. In this plan, two aspects must be combined: the fight against the most serious accidents, which continue to occur in sectors such as construction, agriculture, fishing or the distribution of goods, and on the other hand, new jobs and forms of work that entail new and emerging risks.

They establish the need to adopt new approaches, such as incorporating the gender perspective into occupational health and safety, as well as paying attention to existing health risks and harms, especially those related to exposure to psychosocial risks. All of this will require greater attention from the Labor and Social Security Inspection, as well as the agents involved in the prevention of occupational risks in general.

The points on which your actions will focus within this general objective are:

  • Line 3.1 Prevention of work accidents and occupational diseases in sectors with the highest accident rate.
  • Line 3.2 Contribute to the prevention of occupational cancer.
  • Line 3.3 Anticipate the risks derived from transitions.
  • Line 3.4 Promote information and technical assistance actions in matters of safety and health.
