Organization and planning of time in teleworking
Within the digital activities that we are including in the celebration of the "V F-M Prevention Week" we are focusing on the issue of advising our associated companies on how to articulate and improve teleworking so that workers can do it in a safe and healthy way. In this case we focus on a publication from the European organization EU-OSHA in which it describes practical tips to carry out teleworking in a safe, healthy and as effective way as possible. These practical points are as follows:
- Start and end the day with a routine (get dressed, walk around the house or do some sports activity without a screen), try to keep the same schedules.
- Establish the hours in which colleagues or bosses can contact you, these will be the hours that you will be available to work.
- Make a daily planning of tasks (this way you will avoid working for 24 hours).
- Disconnect by turning off the computer and the company phone.
- Take breaks from time to time and plan times to eat.
- Choose a specific place to work, so when you leave this place it is because you have finished working.
- Set limits when working with children, household chores, or colleagues.
To these tips we would add those that we already include in our sheets related to teleworking and that seem relevant to us since they complete those described above:
- Report your progress and objectives to your team or boss, so that the team can carry out effective work planning.
- Although it may be tempting not to work in your pajamas, maintain proper hygiene for yourself, your home, and your workplace.
- Stay hydrated, drink water, and blink at a distant point from time to time to avoid eye strain.
