Plan against fatal accidents at work for the fishing sector
The INSST has the Shock Plan against fatal accidents at work, in which awareness-raising actions will be developed with the aim of preventing fatal accidents at work.
The plan aims to achieve the greatest possible impact on the reduction of fatal work accidents and therefore the interventions will fundamentally be directed at priority activities, that is, those with the highest incidence rates of fatal work accidents, and which also have the largest number of exposed working population.
Between September 26 and October 1, a new wave is carried out that focuses on to prevent, raise awareness and facilitate recommendations to prevent drownings and blows or entrapment with live elements in the fishing sector.
The recipients are shipowners, captains or bosses and self-employed or employed people in the fishing sector and prevention specialists and the actions will consist of disseminating audiovisual materials with preventive recommendations, launching awareness messages on social networks and holding a webinar in which they will discuss preventive solutions against accidents with the most serious consequences in fishing activity.
The priority objective of the plan is to fight against fatal workplace accidents, specifically reducing the incidence rates of this type of accident and reducing the severity of the damage caused to the health of workers. The premise is to ensure that no person loses their life in the workplace, promoting measures to achieve safe work environments that guarantee the health of workers and within the framework: "Vision zero deaths at work".
Vision Zero is the global campaign of the AISS to in favor of zero accidents, illnesses and injuries at work, in which Fraternidad-Muprespa actively participates, seeking to to promote preventive culture in the organizations. At our Mutual Fund we are convinced of the importance of this new preventive approach and that is why we are already Vision Zero, and we encourage you to learn much more about this topic on our web portal Previene.
