Prevention subsidy in Madrid

The Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM) has published the Order of August 7, 2020, of the Ministry of Economy, Employment and Competitiveness, by which subsidies are called for 2020 aimed at reducing workplace accidents by improving health and safety conditions at work.

Beneficiary entities:

Natural or legal persons may be beneficiaries of these subsidies, provided they have one or more employed workers, have economic activity in the Community of Madrid and carry out the investments or activities subject to the subsidy in work centers located within the territory of the Autonomous Community.

In the case of natural persons who carry out an economic activity in the cases included in article 1 of Law 20/2007, of July 11, on the Statute of Self-Employed Work, they may be beneficiaries of these subsidies whether or not they employ employed workers.

Subsidized actions:

Subsidies aimed at reducing workplace accidents by improving health and safety conditions at work are being called for 2020, under a simplified competitive competition regime, through the following lines:

  • Line 1: acquisition of new machinery, replacing old ones, which, although it complies with current legislation, presents lower levels and safety features than the one acquired and the scrapping of the replaced machinery, except for the machines that are included in lines 4 and 5 below.
  • Line 2: adaptation of work equipment based on the requirements established in Annex I of Royal Decree 1215/1997, of July 18, which establishes the minimum health and safety provisions for the use of work equipment by workers.
  • Line 4: design and installation of localized extraction systems.
  • Line 5: acquisition of motorized work equipment for the transfer, transportation and storage of loads or acquisition of motorized work equipment for carrying out work at height by workers.
  • Line 6: design, installation and verification of collective protection equipment or fixed lifelines on deck.

Amount of aid and deadline:

The aid will be implemented in the form of subsidies based on percentages according to the following expense ranges:

1. Eligible expense less than or equal to 1,000 euros: applicable only to line 2. 100% of the accredited expenses will be subsidized.

2. Eligible expense from 1,001 euros to 5,000 euros: applicable to all lines. 75% of the accredited expenses will be subsidized.

3. Eligible expense greater than 5,000 euros: applicable to all lines.40% of the accredited expenses will be subsidized, with a maximum of 12,000 euros per line.

The deadline for submitting applications will begin the day following the publication of the extract of this call and will end September 11, 2020.
