Prevention technical note on high visibility protective clothing
At the end of last year, the INSST published a new prevention technical note titled: "NTP 1219: High Visibility Protective Clothing - Year 2025".
This document collects information related to personal protective equipment (PPE) capable of visually signaling the presence of the user, specifically, it deals with high visibility clothing for situations with a high risk of being run over.
Its main objective is to update and replace NTP 718 High visibility signaling clothing and to do so, it develops requirements included in the standards that apply to PPE capable of visually signaling the presence of the user, emphasizing the UNE-EN ISO 20471:2013 standard. High visibility clothing. Test methods and requirements together with their modification UNE-EN ISO 20471:2013/A1:2017.
It must be remembered that the NTP are good practice guides and that their indications are not mandatory unless they are included in a current regulatory provision. In order to assess the relevance of the recommendations contained in a specific NTP, it is always advisable to take into account its publication date.
