Within the celebration of our "V F-M Prevention Week" and given that teleworking has finally become a normal form of work in our country, we want to give recommendations so that all of us can enjoy this form of work that saves transportation time, gasoline, makes us have a better family balance and in some cases that we can sleep up to two more hours, which are all advantages. On the other hand, being permanently connected looking at screens, whether on the computer, television, mobile phone or tablets, can generate visual fatigue, which we already told you about in the infographic that we attach, in it you can find tips to detect the most frequent symptoms and recommendations to avoid it.

A few weeks ago, we generated a complete section on our website Previene, where we collected all the news, recommendations, manuals, sheets and healthy challenges, we remind you here of several important recommendations that should be taken into account in relation to the use of electronic devices during confinement and in general, in teleworking:

  • Portable: do not use it on your knees or in bed, look for a table where you can place it as a desktop computer. If you have a docking station, use it, adding an independent screen, keyboard and mouse you will get a work station that you can use.
  • Tablet: place it on a table or lectern, this way you will avoid strain on your hands, wrists and neck.
  • Mobile: keep your back straight, resting on a surface, use hands-free systems to avoid holding the mobile phone with your face and shoulder. If you need to type texts, place it about 30 cm away. from the chest, at eye level, shoulders relaxed, neck and wrists straight.

We also believe it is essential to take breaks, rest for 5 minutes, look at a distant point, hydrate and blink, so we will remain at a high level during all the hours that we need to telework.

In the following video made by our colleague David Revillo, senior technician in occupational risk prevention, you will discover these tips in a more visual way:
