Public IT tool to assess occupational risks for home employment
The Ministry of Labor and Social Economy together with the INSST have recently presented the Prevention Tool for Employment at Home to evaluate the occupational risks of workers in this area, which in our country affects more than 348,000 affiliated women. This new prevention instrument, free and open access, is available through the Prevention10.es portal and allows employers to comply with their new legal obligations.
First of all, a document is obtained with the evaluation of risks in the home, the preventive measures that must be implemented and the information materials that must be delivered to workers. The system also allows you to record the dates of establishment of each measure and track its compliance and once the risk assessment has been carried out, the necessary preventive measures must be implemented to eliminate or reduce the risks detected so that it will be available within six months.
With this measure, which does not generate economic or bureaucratic burdens for employers, compliance is given to Royal Decree 893/2024, which regulates the protection of safety and health in the field of family home service.
The Prevention10.es portal includes, in addition to the tool, a section of specific resources dedicated to the service of the family home, with explanatory materials on prevention of occupational risks adapted for this group.
In Fraternidad-Muprespa we have wanted to help our mutual members by explaining this new tool in detail for which we held a webinar on June 11 that was titled “How to take on prevention, also for domestic workers, with Prevention10.es" and which was taught by our prevention consultants Elena Cano and Felipe Cuellar.
