Public subsidies for carrying out activities to prevent occupational risks
The Official State Gazette published last July the Order TES/864/2023, of July 21, which approves the regulatory bases for the granting of subsidies, under a competitive competition regime, for the carrying out of activities in the field of occupational risk prevention in accordance with the Law 31/1995, of November 8, on Occupational Risk Prevention.
The geographical scope of the activities subject to subsidy will be the state territory, without prejudice to their execution by the autonomous communities, in the companies and work centers of their respective territories, in the financing that corresponds to them.
The subsidies will be aimed at carrying out activities in order to promote the improvement of health and safety conditions at work, especially in small businesses.
The calls may provide for actions of four types:
- Information actions: these will be those that seek to disseminate among workers and employers the principles of preventive action against occupational risks or the specific rules for the application of such principles.
- Technical assistance actions: these will be those that are aimed at the study and resolution of problems, derived from the practical and material application of preventive actions.
- Training actions: will consist of the design of the methods and content of programs that could be taught in sectors and subsectors of productive activity, especially those whose structure is fundamentally made up of small businesses.
- Actions to promote compliance with regulations on occupational risk prevention: these will be those that promote knowledge and application by employers and workers of the legal, regulatory and conventional provisions regarding occupational risk prevention, especially through mechanisms and instruments developed in the sectoral and territorial areas of productive activity.
In accordance with the provisions of Law 31/1995, of November 8, the recipients of the shares will be workers and companies, especially small companies, with a small company being understood as one whose staff size is less than fifty workers. For its part, the deadline to request them is one month from their publication in the BOE on July 25.
