Report on work accidents due to overexertion 2020
Within the campaign that EU-OSHA is carrying out throughout 2020-2022 titled: healthy jobs, let's relax the loads in which we have been writing news and publications since 2020 on a monthly basis, we include this news from a report carried out by the National Institute of Safety and Health at Work. As we have been saying in recent years, overexertion is the cause of most work accidents and therefore, is a high cost for companies, which is why the INSST has prepared this report from an epidemiological point of view, in order to provide solutions for preventive planning in companies.
The objectives of the report are:
1. Evaluate trends in the magnitude of the problem.
2.Define the dimension and distribution of the problem in the working population.
3.Identify the activities most affected by this type of accident.
As we can read in the report, the database used to analyze the accidents comes from the General Statistics Subdirectorate of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, which contains anonymized information on the descriptor variables collected through Delt@ of the AT reports with sick leave that occurred during the work day during the year 2020. This information has been coded and analyzed, focusing the study on those whose Shape variable code is 71 (Physical overexertion - on the musculoskeletal system).
