Safety data sheet and its use in the company

The INSST has recently published the Prevention Technical Note (NTP) entitled: "Safety data sheet: use in the company - Year 2024"which updates number 686 and sets out a series of criteria in order to facilitate the use and management of safety data sheets

It must be remembered that safety data sheets provide information on the characteristics and dangers of chemical substances or mixtures.

This information may be of great interest to companies since it allows them to know the possible risks that may arise from their use, which in turn makes it easier to foresee which prevention measures will be most appropriate to establish to act against these risks, taking into account technical, economic and other aspects. All of this justifies that the use of these sheets can be integrated into the company's general management system.
