This Friday October 23 at 10:00 a.m. a fifth edition of FRATERTALKS where, coinciding with the celebration of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work EU-OSHA, we will talk about ___“Ergonomics and MSDs: let's relax the loads”.  For we will have as a guest HTMLTAG14___Mercedes Sanchís Almenara, director of Innovation in Wellbeing and Occupational Health at theInstitute of Biomechanics of Valencia (IBV), reference organization in the field of ergonomics.

According to the Sixth European Survey on working conditions, three out of every five workers report suffering from some type of musculoskeletal ailment, constituting the most frequent work-related health problem in Europe.

MSDs (musculoskeletal disorders) of occupational origin are alterations suffered by body structures such as muscles, joints or tendons, caused or aggravated primarily by work or the effects of the immediate work environment. They tend to significantly deteriorate the quality of life and work capacity of the person who suffers from it, and are the source of one of the most common causes of disability, sick leave and early retirement. This is a cause for concern not only because of its effects on the health of individual workers, but also because of its detrimental impact on businesses and national economies.

Fraternidad-Muprespa and the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) maintain a close collaborative relationship in order to increase awareness about musculoskeletal disorders, the celebration of this FRATERTALKS being one more action to add to those that Fraternidad-Muprespa has been developing throughout the year in this area.
