Summer has arrived, the well-deserved vacations, vehicle travel and high temperatures. Heat is a risk factor that must be taken into account in all jobs.

This year we have an important novelty, since Royal Decree-Law 4/2023  requires measures to be taken to protect workers against heat, even going so far as to prohibit outdoor work when the AEMET - State Meteorological Agency establishes an orange or red level. Furthermore, along these same lines, the INSST, National Institute of Safety and Health at Work, has just launched the campaign "WITH THE SUN IS A TIME FOR PREVENTION".

INSST with the sun is prevention time

From the point of view of road safety, not all people who take control of a vehicle are aware of the risk posed by driving at high temperatures. What is the recommended temperature inside the vehicle before starting the journey? What are the hottest hours of the day and why is it recommended to avoid driving at that time? What risks can arise when driving with excessive temperature and how does it affect our physical abilities and behavior?

In this new infographic you will find the answers with tips that will help you drive safely on hot days.
