Suspension of the Contribution Reduction Bonus system for 2022

At the end of last December, Law 22/2021, of December 28, on the General State Budgets for the year 2022, was published in the Official State Gazette, which includes the suspension of the Bonus or contribution reduction system due to a reduction in workplace accidents. 

Specifically the dadditional provision one hundred and sixth indicates the suspension of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies due to a reduction in work-related accidents:

• The application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies is suspended to companies that have considerably reduced workplace accidents, provided for in Royal Decree 231/2017, of March 10, for contributions generated during the year 2022. This suspension will be extended until the government proceeds to reform the aforementioned royal decree.

Previously, Law 11/2020 of December 30, suspended the application of the system of reduction of contributions for professional contingencies to companies that had considerably reduced the occupational accidents, for the contributions generated last year 2021.
