Update of European regulations for the marketing of construction products
To guarantee the safety and functionality of construction products and, by extension, construction works, as well as the safety of workers and users, it is necessary to guarantee that some service providers, such as logistics service providers, online markets and agents that provide intermediary services, do not contribute to the non-compliance of other economic operators. It is therefore necessary that the relevant provisions also apply to these services and to those who provide them.
Therefore, on January 7, 2025, Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, paragraphs 1 to 7, Article 7, paragraph 1, Articles 9 and 10, Article 12, first paragraph, Article 16, paragraph 3, Article 37, paragraph 4, Article 63, 89, and 90, as well as the annexes, came into force. I, II, III, IV, VII, IX and which establishes harmonized rules for the marketing of construction products and repeals Regulation (EU) 305/2011, which was adopted in the context of the internal market, in order to harmonize the marketing conditions of construction products and eliminate obstacles to trade in these products between Member States.
The rest of the articles will be applicable from January 8, 2026, with the exception of article 92, which will be applicable from January 8, 2027.
